It has been surprisingly difficult to photograph the clouds of dust. I have tried time after time. The smell of cement in the dust has saturated the air. My hair has been almost rigid with the dust and I have tried not to breathe it in too much. The dust has coated everything, despite the demolition crew’s efforts to suppress it with water, and yet it shows little in photographs.
Finally, I found the combination I needed to show the dust: dark clouds and low, bright sunlight on a weekday.
