The runner at dusk

It was just above freezing, and the wind was an icy northerly of the kind that brings sharp pain to exposed flesh. There were a few surfers in the water. A few gulls kept flying with the lone runner. I liked the reflections on the wet sand, and the bright colours of his jacket against the subtle hues of the beach at dusk.
